When I’m at the office, my dental family is right there by my side. Our days are filled with joy, laughter, and challenges. We share many memorable times.
But in this blog, I’m going to shine the spotlight on my family at home. They are amazing and I wouldn’t be able to have two thriving practices without their support!
It all began 10 years ago when I first met my husband Jake at our church’s Mardi Gras party. We hit it off and formed a strong bond right away.
Our family has grown with five smart, charming, talented, and energetic children! They are: Jacob (23), Emily (14), Marilyn (14), Rosemary (12), and Renee (10). We adopted our youngest three from the Philippines in 2015.
As a proud mom, let me tell you a bit more about them…
All our kids attend Marvin elementary and Marvin Ridge schools – except Jacob. He graduated a while ago from Marvin Ridge High School and is now a proud graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
Being a parent is exciting and scary at the same time! It’s a bit of a rollercoaster ride full of different emotions and experiences. But at the end of the day, you don’t regret it one bit. I’ve found it very fascinating watching each one of our children develop into remarkable human beings with their own unique personalities.
When we hang out, they bring out the kid in me! I like watching Emily handle a soccer ball (and seeing her competitive side), trying my hand at art projects with Marilyn, and playing different games with Renee and Rosemary. Since Jacob is our oldest, we enjoy great conversation anytime.
We value family time. We enjoy the beach, boating, and traveling (I’ll blog about that soon). We celebrate all the American holidays, and especially enjoy infusing foods and drinks with anything holiday themed! Now I’m getting hungry… We also celebrate the kid-friendly holidays. Our tooth fairy is very creative – she delivers money folded in origami!
I love my family. Life just wouldn’t be as colorful, or full of love, without them!
